The traditional struggling artist story played out in an American gothic scene. The film was not shy in showing the many problems of Jackson Pollock and his eagerness/envy to become what is a success in the art world. He jumps to life from a cranky slumber when he hears a Guggenheim collector was making a visit. This is a great movie, and yet a little predictable and plays out like a cautionary tale of succumbing to your beatnik wildling’s desires. Jackson envy for recognition, and once he got it, could not hold on to it. He was his own worst enemy. Great movie and should be a cautionary tale for every art student.
